Basically, the master clock takes the signal from GPS or NTP (via internet) and sends time/date data to all slave clocks (wired or wirelessly).

The advanced ZigBee wireless transmission technology is ideal to be implemented into the wireless master/slave clock system. It transmits low power but has longer distance transmission.

The master clock broadcasts time/date information to all clocks every second. The transmitting power from master clock is only around 0.06W at frequency 2.450~2.480Ghz which is a worldwide approved frequency.

Each slave clock acts as a repeater. Max. repeat times is 19, average transmission range is about 100 meters. Line of sight range will be 500 meters.

The slave clock colon will stay lit up when it is synchronized. If more than 10 minutes pass and no data is received from wireless module, the slave clock will run on its time base (crystal) and the colons flash.
